Is there an entrance fee? 

The entrance ticket to White Sands National Park is $25 per vehicle and $15 per pedestrian over 16 years old.

Why is this desert so important? 

It is the largest gypsum desert in the world and the dunes have particularly varied shapes since the winds sculpt them throughout the year, giving them changing aspects. The White Sands Desert, otherwise known as "the desert of the white sands", belongs to the Chihuahua Desert which extends from northern Mexico to the southwestern United States

When to go? 

To visit the White Sands desert, the best seasons are spring and autumn due to the unbearable high scorching heat in summer
